There is one condition that people don’t talk about too much but affects French bulldogs. And that is diabetes in French bulldogs. This condition can affect them in very bad ways, so, it is important to know how to treat it, prevent it, and take care of them. French bulldogs that have diabetes will have a hard time producing glucose. Quite similar to what happens with humans. Now, this condition can happen at any time without even noticing. When it happens, you will see your dog behave differently. Now, even if the pancreas is in charge of producing insulin, with diabetes it will be harder. That is why it is important to look for insulin for dogs. As we mentioned, it is hard for people to identify when our French bulldogs will get this condition. Yet, there are some signs that can tell us that it is happening. And hopefully, treat it sooner rather than later.
The clearest sign that something is wrong with your French bulldog is their increased thirst. This is one of the first and most noticeable signs of diabetes in a French bulldog. Another one is cloudy eyes. Thankfully, French bulldogs have very expressive eyes. So, if you see something out of the ordinary, it could be diabetes or something else. Finally, increased urination. If you see your french bulldog peeing more than what it should, that could be another sign. If you spot these things, we recommend taking your dog to the vet.
